DKB came alongside Walvis Bay at
1230B on Sunday 11 Feb. Shortly after she came
alongside, the Executive Officer Lt Cdr Mkhwanazi
briefed the ships company about the scheduled activities
while alongside.

Orphans having great time.
On Monday 12 Feb, 25 orphans from the
Children Education Centre visited the ship. Mrs
Musukubili from the Office of the Minister of Gender,
Equality and Child Warfare led the orphanage group.
Padre Dukwane and the PRO took the group for a tour of
the ship and afterwards the group proceeded to the
flight deck where light snacks were organized for the
orphans. AB Mobeng and Sea Matsolo surprised everyone
when they donated some clothing to the orphans. “It’s a
personal calling, I just looked at this beautiful kids
and said to myself they have been through a lot at early
age” said an emotional AB Mobeng.
Later during the day, a volleyball
and soccer game between DKB and the Namibians Navy took
place at the local Sports field.
The day was concluded by a cocktail
function hosted by the High Commissioner on the flight
deck. Some of the guests attending the function were;
the Acting High Commissioner of SA; Commissioner De
Groot, the Chinese Ambassador, and the Defence Advisors
from Germany, Angola, Zimbabwe, Brazil, South Africa and
the United States.
It was a day that was enjoyed by everyone.
