Executive National Security Programme visits the Fleet

The group from the Executive National Security Programme (ENSP) visited the Fleet on 09 October 2012. The group consisted of officers from various Defence Departments within the DOD and SANDF, a few international officers from countries such as Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe as well as some of the officers’ spouses.

The ENSP group was given a presentation on the South African Navy at the Maritime Warfare Training Centre. The presentation which was conducted by R Adm (JG) D.G. Jamieson included topics to do with how security measures are put into place, particularly to do with anti-piracy deployments. R Adm (JG) D.G. Jamieson went into great detail, ensuring that the ENSP group fully understood all aspects regarding security within the SAN.

Overall the ENSP visit was a success as the group left with a clear understanding of the requirements within the SAN and how security measures are being put in place effectively.
