The group from the
Executive National Security Programme (ENSP) visited the
Fleet on 09 October 2012. The group consisted of
officers from various Defence Departments within the DOD
and SANDF, a few international officers from countries
such as Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe as well as some of
the officers’ spouses.

R Adm (JG) D.G. Jamieson giving his presentation
The ENSP group was given a
presentation on the South African Navy at the Maritime
Warfare Training Centre. The presentation which was
conducted by R Adm (JG) D.G. Jamieson included topics to
do with how security measures are put into place,
particularly to do with anti-piracy deployments. R Adm (JG)
D.G. Jamieson went into great detail, ensuring that the
ENSP group fully understood all aspects regarding
security within the SAN.

The ENSP visitors
Overall the ENSP visit was a
success as the group left with a clear understanding of
the requirements within the SAN and how security
measures are being put in place effectively.
