The annual Mandela Day was once again celebrated with great success. FMU showed its commitment by becoming involved in two activities within the two communities.

The first outreach was to a church in Gugulethu for whom benches were made which was much needed. This event saw R Adm (JG) R.S. Ndabambi with his staff and the Acting Officer Commanding of FMU (Cdr Durr) attending the handing over of these benches to the church.

Once the above activity was done Cdr Durr and his team went over to the Hilltop Educare Centre in Da Gama Park where another group was busy painting the fence of the crèche.  One member who was involved in the painting openly said that he does not only do it because it is Mandela Day but he loves doing it. This just goes to show the commitment of members to do well unto others.

The appreciations at both these events were highly visible. These events have really shown the eagerness of FMU in making a difference in the lives of people.
