Flag Officer Fleet Counter Intelligence (FOFCI) and Naval Base Simon’s Town Counter Intelligence (NBS CI) in Rondebosch East for 67 minutes

FOFCI and NBS CI section visited Woodside Special Care Centre in Rondebosch East on the 18 July 2012 for the commemoration of the 67 minutes of Mandela Day. The team starting revamping the centre in the morning and all the males were busy with maintenance and gardening and the females were helping in the kitchen.

Woodside special Care Centre was establish in 1976, with an initial intake of 20 residents. It is a residential home caring for profoundly mentally and physically disabled children and adults, all of whom have a very low IQ level and with extremely limited abilities. The children are looked after by a dedicated staff of care workers, professional nurses, physiotherapist, occupational therapy and a team of speech and language therapist.
