South African Navy giving light to young scholars

Yet again the South African Navy was on their best showing and giving the light to young school learners of New Brighton. Naval Station Port Elizabeth was invited to a career day at New Brighton on 28 June 2012.

Vezokuhle Youth Development Project hosted the event at the school. Their aim was to strengthen its intervention toward the social uplifting of learners in primary and secondary schools. They have adopted 20 schools with 2400 learners.

The turn-out of the school kids was pretty amazing; these learners are hoping to become future leaders. One of the learners said; “We thank Vezokuhle for this specific event because for some of us we never knew of some of these career choices, especially the Navy, we thought it is just soldiers”.
