Naval Station Port Elizabeth (NSPE) has been issued, for the first time, an oil spill kit on 27 June 2012.

CPO Naidoo from Naval Harbour Master Pollution Control came and introduced the members to the kit. This would mean that NSPE will be ready for low level fuel spills in the harbour area.

This also shows the significance of having an operational unit to perform these duties in times of need.
