A vibrant group of teenagers from Michael Oak Waldorf School in Kenilworth, spent a rainy half-day touring SAS SALDANHA on Thursday, 05 November 2009.

On their arrival, they were told that most of the activities would be held indoors due to the rain. Surprisingly the group said they were willing to enjoy an experience of a lifetime, and the rain would not deter them. They decided to live up to the sailor's saying “there is no rain in the navy but the navy in the rain”.

All geared up and ready for the Namacurra boat ride...

These 14 year-old’s showed a keen interest and asked many questions throughout the briefing and tour. Their questions ranged from what does the navy do, how to join, opportunities in the navy and even the lifestyle of sailors.

The tour was concluded with a boat ride, which was the past of the day most enjoyed by them and hey even did not the mind the drizzle.

Later on that afternoon the Unit also hosted Indian Navy members. The visitors were accompanied by OiC Diving School, Cdr M.J. Vrey.
