On
Thursday, 29 October 2009, the newly appointed Interim
National Defence Force Service Commission (INDFSC)
visited the SA Navy. The commission is tasked with
reviewing the current conditions within the SANDF, its
members and to work towards a new dispensation for the
Defence Force.

The commission members in their various capacities are:

- Retired Lt Gen L. Moloi
- Member of Parliament, Maj Gen (ret) B.

- Member of Parliament, Ms H. Mgabadeli

The Minister
of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Lindiwe Sisulu,
tasked INDFSC to visit all Arms of Service in order to
investigate the working conditions and make
recommendations regarding remuneration and the
conditions of serving members within the Defence Force.
The
commission visited various rank groups of the SAN, and
as promised offered a platform for members to voice
their grievances and service conditions. The Chairperson
of the commission, Judge L.O. Bosielo said:” I want
to assure you that the commission is here for you and
all information discussed here today, will form part of
our recommendations to the Defence Ministry for further
action”.
