Training dress only at Naval Units.

Side Caps with Dress No 4

While on course, Officers and Warrant Officers may wear side caps with Dress No 4 when going on staff visits.

Description of Short Action Working Dress (AWD)

  • Short-sleeved blue shirt.
  • Rank insignia on shoulders.
  • Black on blue name-tapes on right panel.
  • Qualification badge on left panel.
  • Mustering badge on left panel.
  • Blue AWD shorts.
  • Black cotton web belt.
  • Black sandals.

Short Action Working Dress is Worn on the Following Occasions.

  • At training units whilst busy with seamanship.
  • On board ships.

Protection Force

  • Baseball cap.
  • Beany optional in winter only when not on duty at high profile locations such as Admiralty House.
  • Cold weather jacket with rank insignia optional in winter.
  • Black anklets and black boots must be worn when on duty.

Submariners

  • Baseball cap.
  • Beany optional in winter.
  • Black jersey with rank insignia on shoulders is to be worn only by submariners and divers.

Members Under Training at Naval Units

  • Dress No 4.
  • White leather belt.
  • White anklets.
  • All members under training must wear their jerseys tucked in.
