NOTES:  

  • Dress No 2 is optional office wear in winter.
  • Black handbag for females, optional
  • Mourning Band may be worn by all ranks with dress 2 or 2w when attending a funeral.

 

Uniform Description

  • Cap/Tricorn with cap badge.
  • White, long-sleeved shirt.
  • Black tie.
  • Black jacket.
  • Name plate on right panel.
  • Proficiency badge on right panel.
  • Affiliation badge on right panel.
  • Medals on left panel.
  • Qualification badge on left panel.
  • Shoulder titles (South Africa) on top of sleeves.
  • Rank insignia on sleeves.
  • Males:  Black trousers
  • Females:  Black slacks or black skirt.
  • Black belt.
  • Males:  Black socks and flat black shoes.
  • Females:  Mexican Silver, Quick Silver or Blackmail stockings with skirt when wearing court shoes or flat shoes.
  • Females:  Black socks or above-mentioned colour stockings with slacks when wearing flat black shoes.

Dress No 2 is Worn on the Following Occasions

  • Liaison duties.
  • When on leave or liberty.
  • Official receptions (dinners, banquets and luncheons).
  • President's garden party.
  • As spectator or guest at a SANDF parade.
