The acquisition of new ships, submarines and modern weapon
system provides an exciting and dynamic career for SA Naval
Engineers. This branch renders important support to the
combat element by means of maintaining operational ships and
equipment in a continued state of readiness. |
This is achieved through the maintenance and modification of
existing weapons, electronics and propulsion systems and the design
and development of new systems.
After completion of the first year of military and officers
training, student engineers will commence studies in mechanical,
electronic or electrical engineering at the universities of
Stellenbosch or Cape Town.
