Survey Recorders provide a service to Hydrographic Offices
throughout the world, by surveying our coastal waters and
assisting Oceanographic vessels with survey information. |
To join the Hydrographic Survey Branch you need to qualify as
a Survey Recorder.
Members who join this mustering undergo four weeks Part 1
training, conducted at the South African Navy Hydrographic Office or
onboard the Hydrographic Vessel SAS PROTEA. This training involves
the recording of information that will be used in the final
rendering of survey data.
After the completion of the Part 1 learning opportunity members
will be stationed at the Hydrographic Office and/or onboard SAS
PROTEA.
